Palmdale to Tehachapi - Day 6

Mileage:  53
Total Ascent:  3,113

I wondered how I would do today after yesterdays tough ride.  When we first started out my legs felt so tired but we had 30 miles of relatively flat roads which really helped.  It was a day of desert, acres of solar panels and windmills.  The climb today was another tough one.  15.9 miles to the top.  The first part once again was easy enough and then the last half mile was a 10% grade.  It was a put your head down and grind it out.   And once again we had head winds which always makes the day a challenge.

We had a real treat tonite.  Gail's husband had Shari's Berries for all the ladies.  It was such a treat.

A few pics from along the way...

A little hard to see but cactus has so many flowers blooming and was so pretty.  Had to take a picture of them.

Windmills   If I remember correctly there are about 4,500 windmills in this area.

The poppies here are a deep vibrant orange as compared to what we see in my area.

Coming down the hill into Tehachapi we saw this on the side of the hill.

Tomorrows our day off.  Won't be blogging.  See you again on Thursday!!
